The South Cottage has two bedrooms. Bedroom number one has a queen, canopy-style bed. Bedroom number two has a king bed. The living room has a double futon and a double sofa sleeper. The bathroom has a large, old-fashioned claw-foot tub and there is a fully equipped kitchen. This house will sleep a total of eight people.
The North Cottage has one bedroom with a king canopy-style bed and a separate sleeping area off the kitchen with a double futon. The bathroom is charming with a tub and soothing shades of pastel decorating the walls. There is a fully equipped kitchen. The North Cottage sleeps four comfortably.
The back yard has a great private area with relaxing seating and a barbeque area beside the year-round stream. There is a laundry and an extra bathroom with a shower for both cottages to share.
Nearby, you will find many wonderful restaurants and antique and gift shops to enjoy. Sengthong’s, Cafe Maddelena, The Cornerstone, and The Brown Trout all are within close walking distance of the cottages.
The cottages are located conveniently close to the Sacramento River which can be reached within a two-minute walk. The Union Pacific Railroad yard is even closer, so train enthusiasts will not miss any of the action. Fishing and kayaking on the Upper Sacramento River; Moss Brae Falls and Hedge Creek Falls are within minutes. The Pacific Crest Trail and Castle Crags State Park are within a five minute drive. The Mt. Shasta Ski Parks and the trailheads on Mt. Shasta are approximately 20 miles away; Shasta Lake is within 30 miles.
Dunsmuir, at 2,500 feet in elevation, is located in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in far Northern California. The Lassen National Forest, Klamath National Forest, and Modoc National Forest, Marble Mountain Wilderness, Lava Beds National Monument and the Trinity Alps are all within a one hour drive.
